The Endangered Species Act (ESA) is a landmark environmental law enacted in the United States in 1973. It is designed to protect and conserve endangered and threatened species and their habitats. The ESA has been credited with saving numerous species from extinction and helping to recover populations of endangered and threatened animals.
The Lumière brothers, Auguste and Louis Lumière, showcased their short film "La Sortie de l'Usine Lumière à Lyon" (translated as "Exiting the Lumière Factory in Lyon") at the Grand Café in Paris. This event marked the birth of cinema as we know it today, and it set the stage for the rapid development of the film industry worldwide.
The first successful birth of an American "test tube baby" occurred on December 28, 1981, in Norfolk, Virginia. Elizabeth Jordan Carr was born via in vitro fertilization (IVF) at the Eastern Virginia Medical School, making her the first IVF-conceived child born in the United States and a signifcant milestone in human reproductive science.
