Too Long; Didn't Read

Selenium was very new when I migrated to selenium. My journey started with Selenium 1 and Selenium IDE. Now we use Appium to test mobile apps. I am working as a software test engineer since 2010. I will keep updating this list as and when I remember or find a new website. As of now, the list is short. I will try to add more websites in the coming days. If you come across any sites that you think can be helpful, kindly comment.

I am working as a software test engineer since 2010. Selenium was very new when I migrated to selenium. My journey started with Selenium 1 and Selenium IDE. I do not know when I transited from Selenium 1 to Selenium WebDriver. And now we use Appium to test mobile apps.

One thing that is constant so far is, my peers and my juniors asking me about a list of sites to practice selenium or a list of websites to practice test automation using some other tool. So, to those, I am creating a list of sites.

I will keep updating this list as and when I remember or find a new website. As of now, the list is short. I will try to add more websites in the coming days.

List of websites to practice selenium:

  • http://automationpractice.com/index.php - This website is meant to practice test automation. It's an e-commerce site and is around for a fairly long time.
  • https://magento.softwaretestingboard.com/ - This website is meant to practice test automation. It's an e-commerce site using Magento CMS and is around for a fairly long time as well. Here, you can create your account and expect it to be around for a long time. You can expect to have your automated tests executing even after 2-3 years with minor tweaks, as this website does not change very often.
  • http://the-internet.herokuapp.com/ - This is not a full-fledged website, but it offers components of the website that you can test. If you are working on practicing a complex component, I would recommend this site.
  • https://www.saucedemo.com/ - This is a demo website from SauceLabs. It’s a custom eCommerce site by SauceLabs. But, not with much functionality.
  • https://ultimateqa.com/automation - This is also a good site. But, it does not have a complete user journey. If you want to practice just a part of a user journey, this is a good site.
  • http://opensource-demo.orangehrmlive.com/ - This website is not meant to practice test automation. But, you can write a test around this.
  • https://phptravels.org/ - Similarly, this website is not meant to practice. But, for a short time, you can write tests and execute them. Can't be used for demonstration as it may get changed anytime.
  • https://demo.openmrs.org/openmrs/ - This is another open-source site. But, can't expect to have it unchanged.

Next, I will be monitoring comments. If you come across any sites that you think can be helpful to the test automation community, kindly comment. I will verify and add it here. Also, do let me know if any of the links above are broken. I will remove them.
