Who are the pixEOS Featured Artists?

pixEOS is a collaborative project at its core. pixEOS is a startup on the EOS blockchain and is building an Art Gamification infrastructure with a myriad of components.

Featured Artists are part of the pixEOS artist collective. They work collaboratively to make the pixEOS project as awesome as possible. They make stickers, art, graphics, design, cartoon avatars, 3D art, paintings and other interactive creative inventions. They invent new concepts.

Together, they are helping to build the pixEOS platform, complete with a way to monetize their own artwork via NFTs (non-fungible tokens) in the near future. If you don’t know what NFT’s are, read this article. They also understand that pixEOS has a long roadmap and is building a creative, sustainable smart economy that is based on the EOS blockchain.

What Do Featured Artists Do?

Featured Artists create, share their art and cooperate with other artists. Not only do they promote the pixEOS project and bring in more artists to the community, but they participate and interact with the community as much as possible and as their time allows.

They help make things that are needed for the pixEOS project, and are completely flexible in their approach. Being integral part of the monetization phase of pixEOS, they will be soon tokenizing their art with NFT’s and selling them on the pixEOS platform.

What Should You Expect?

pixEOS is a thriving artist collective and you can expect to meet inspiring artists, make new friends and be a part of a ground-breaking and disruptive new blockchain art project. pixEOS uses the meritocracy system. If you understand how Burning Man works, you’ll probably understand pixEOS very well.

What Shouldn’t You Expect?

pixEOS is an artist collective at its core. If you don’t like the idea of working collaboratively with other artists, and contributing your creativity in a way that benefits the entire artist collective, you probably shouldn’t join pixEOS. You shouldn’t expect to have a lambo if you join pixEOS. Also, when you make art for pixEOS, you can sign your name and put a link to your online portfolio at the bottom, but you’re not allowed to ask for donations or put your EOS or other crypto accounts on it. Why? Because it looks tacky. If you have a huge ego, pixEOS probably isn’t the right community for you.

About Collaborative Work

pixEOS is big on collaboration and can’t exist without collaboration among artists and the EOS community.

For example, we are currently working on a large collaborative digital canvas which will be used for t-shirts and other pixEOS merchandise.

Here’s how it works: pixEOS artists independently create art elements and email their creations to one artist who then adds these elements to a large digital canvas. All the artists who submit their art will be credited in official articles and on the website, but their signatures won’t be attached to the art they submit. This allows for a clean piece of work that is composed of many elements from many different artists.

pixEOS Collaborative Art VS. Individual NFT Artist Work

There are two different art aspects in pixEOS so it’s essential you understand the differences between them.

These are collaborative art/media made for the pixEOS project and then NFT (non-fungible tokens) that are issued by artists for the purpose of selling their artwork via the blockchain. The NFT’s belong solely to the artist, with the artist retaining all rights, and the tokens generated by the sale of these go directly to the artists.

Collaborative art and media that is made for the pixEOS project (marketing, outreach, community involvement, partnerships, branding, merchandise) belongs to the pixEOS community and is not bound by individual artist copyrights. pixEOS art made by artists for the pixEOS project will be attributed to that particular artist (with the artist signing their name) but will not be copyrighted by that artist. This kind of art will be covered by a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

You are free to:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.
  • The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as you follow the license terms.
  • Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.

It’s important that you fully understand this distinction and agree to these terms. When you make art or media for the pixEOS project (for use by the entire community), it has the Creative Commons license. While the NFT’s made by the artists contain all rights reserved to the artist.

If you are an artist who only wants to use the NFT system of pixEOS and are not interested in collaborating or helping to grow the pixEOS project as a whole, you shouldn’t join pixEOS. At its heart, pixEOS is a collaborative project and cannot thrive if everyone is just operating in silos.
