First of all, a huge thank you to the HackerNoon community and staff for nominating me for a 2021 Noonies award! I’ve been nominated in the following category, please vote:
HackerNoon Contributor of the Year - BOTS: https://noonies.tech/award/2021-hackernoon-contributor-of-the-year-bots
As someone in the tech industry, I believe that the most exciting technology of the present is The Blockchain because we are going to see a huge breakthrough in the relationship between humans and the internet. Learn more about my thoughts and opinions on all sorts of stuff and my journey in the tech industry via the interview below.
Right now I’m a Software Engineer at Bol.com, the biggest retailer company in The Netherlands. I moved here a month ago after living all my life in Argentina. To me, software engineering is the closest thing to magic and as developers to wizards. I get amazed every day by the things people create and a little bit frustrated when I see myself as the Neville Longbottom of Software Engineering (But hey! I’m a Gryffindor right?)
Last year I got really invested in 3 things: Golang, Bots, and CryptoCurrencies. So I decided to do what every normal guy would do. Of course, binge-watching Naruto again. However, after wasting those 3 months with Naruto, I decided to create some Telegram and discord bots mostly in Golang (although there were a couple on javascript too), and decided to have some fun with my profession. Thus, my crypto bots were released, and with them, a couple of notes in Hackernoon and other tech blogs.
I’ve always loved computers. Since I was a kid I looked into computers as if they were alien technology. So I decided to study them and went to the Universidad of Buenos Aires to get my Bachelor's and hopefully my Master's in Computer Science. I got neither of them :p. But I haven’t thrown the towel yet!
As stated before, the blockchain. If you don’t know what the blockchain is, please go and read about it. There’s an amazing video made by 3blue1brown (amazing channel) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBC-nXj3Ng4&ab_channel=3Blue1Brown where the blockchain is explained with drawings and without that many technicalities so that everyone can understand it.
I think It’s going to change the world for the better
Deepfakes are amazing right now and they weren’t a thing about 5 or 6 years ago. They’ll only get better. Don’t get me wrong, every technological leap through is amazing. However, we do know what they are going to be used for and by whom.
(Please don’t say Shiba Inu, Please don’t say Shiba Inu) Honestly, an ETF. I’d rather live out of financial interest the rest of my life and fulfill my biggest life dream: Walk around the entire world.
Powerlifting and how to build my own Android App to follow my training. Learn some physical discipline, it does wonders to your life.
Don't ever, for any reason, do anything, to anyone, for any reason, ever, no matter what, no matter where, or who, or who you are with, or where you are going, or where you've been, ever, for any reason whatsoever. - Michael Scott - Tomás Sirio.
The office’s reference aside. You need to understand that you are not behind in life, you are behind your expectations of yourself. Don’t force yourself to be better than the rest, but identify who you are and who you want to be and strive every day further to achieve it. It’s going to be a f*** (watch your profanities) long journey, but it’s one that you are never going to regret.
My mom gave me a lot of good advice that I dismissed because, of course, she is my mom. However, the one that I always carry with me (and it’s important to at least carry one thing from previous generations) is to stop and breathe from time to time. Get used to becoming aware of your surroundings and your life. Do it at least once a day. Be conscious at least once a day and you’ll see far more than you ever did.
Thanks for everything mom.
And of course:
