Meet Semillas Urbanas Mexico

At Semillas Urbanas México, we are transforming real estate investment through innovative crowdfunding. Our platform provides co-ownership opportunities, making property investment accessible to a broader audience. By utilizing advanced technologies, we prioritize transparency, security, and efficiency in every transaction.

Our mission is to democratize real estate, foster sustainable development, and create inclusive financial opportunities for all.

How Semillas Urbanas Mexico achieved product-market fit

We are steadily progressing towards achieving product-market fit. Due to regulatory challenges, reaching this key milestone has been complex. However, we’ve successfully identified our Proof-of-Concept (PoC), which allows us to test our business hypotheses, refine our approach, and improve our Minimum Viable Product (MVP).

The evolution of Semillas Urbanas Mexico

  • 2022: Semillas Urbanas México (SUMx) was founded with a service-oriented business model.
  • 2023: Realizing the need to expand our impact, we pivoted the entire project. By adopting a crowdfunding model, we significantly enhanced our value proposition.
  • Later that year, our fourth and final founding partner joined the team, completing our founding group.
  • Since then, we have accelerated our project through participation in three different programs: one in Europe, one in Latin America, and one in Mexico.
  • 2024: We began gaining traction with our B2B target (real estate developers) by defining a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) and securing our first investors.

Lessons learned

While we still have a long journey ahead, we've realized that integrating into a regulated industry and becoming a key part of the ecosystem demands significant effort and close attention to meeting customer expectations.

The most valuable lesson we've learned so far is the importance of surrounding ourselves with experts and individuals who are willing to help and share their knowledge and being reciprocate.
