So let’s start! Tell us a bit about yourself. For example, name, profession, and personal interests.

I am Maali Marvin Kenneth. A high school teacher in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. I am interested in the technology called Bitcoin and am also doing some graduate studies in Quantum Computing.

Interesting! What was your latest Hackernoon Top story about?

Bitcoin is a force only for good, like Superman. It is my first Hackernoon story.

Do you usually write on similar topics? If not, what do you usually write about?

I usually write on similar topics. First published on Bitcoin last year with a Bitcoin news site called BitcoinNews.com.

Great! What is your usual writing routine like (if you have one?)

I usually get inspiration from online news, movies, and books, and then flesh out an idea I may be ruminating on and turn it into a blog post.

Being a writer in tech can be a challenge. It’s not often our main role, but an addition to another one. What is the biggest challenge you have when it comes to writing?

The biggest challenge is the lack of adequate technical knowledge on a subject.

What is the next thing you hope to achieve in your career?

I hope to become a professional quantum information scientist and help solve energy poverty through it.

Wow, that’s admirable. Now, something more casual: What is your guilty pleasure of choice?

Playing Chess.

Do you have a non-tech-related hobby? If yes, what is it?

Is writing tech-related? Okay, I’d say reading books.

What can the Hacker Noon community expect to read from you next?

It may be something on Bitcoin and Quantum Computing together. No promises.

What’s your opinion on HackerNoon as a platform for writers?

I think it’s great. It has a fun and welcoming techy style. Playfully blocky and green and I nearly expect to see an aesthetic command prompt somewhere. And the published stories are well-curated.

Thanks for taking the time to join our “Meet the writer” series. It was a pleasure. Do you have any closing words?

Stay humble and keep building a great future any way you can. For yourself and others.
