"The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organization behind the Academy Awards, handed best picture nominations to 10 eclectic films on Tuesday — the most since "The King’s Speech" beat out nine rivals to take the Oscar in 2011."

"Three of this year's nominees were distributed by streaming-first studios, and another two were released simultaneously in multiplexes and via the HBO Max. The crop of nominees features only one certifiable blockbuster: "Dune," the sci-fi epic that has grossed nearly $400 million worldwide."

I haven't; I'm not a huge fan of the Oscars. It's just another way for actors to line their pockets.

Mónica FreitasFeb 24, 2022, 6:05 PM

Sara Pinto I haven't seen any of them :smiling_face_with_tear: but I'm curious about Dune and Don't look up. Maybe I'll use this weekend to catch up with these movies. Have you seen any of them?

Sara PintoMar 4, 2022, 11:44 AM

Sara Pinto I haven’t watched any of them but I’ve heard Dune is pretty good. I can’t wait until my schedule clears up and I can go watch a movie again 😵

Abeer Jack Boreham, take it from me, I'm not a big sci-fi fan, and I thought this movie was pretty awesome. Give it a chance and then tell me what you think haha

Sara PintoMar 9, 2022, 9:12 PM

Mónica Freitas, I meant to start watching it and never had the chance. I'll try it this weekend!
