The results were incredible.

<a href="https://hackernoon.com/tagged/codewars" target="_blank">Codewars</a> is a place where you can solve coding puzzles and then feel pretty smug about it. The smugness is then recorded in points that level you up on the site. You do all the puzzles within their site and try to pass its tests.

I wrote a CodeWars Puzzle and it was a disappointing experience

When I was learning how to code I got stuck all the time. I didn’t know why I was stuck but getting unstuck was a lot of fun. I would retrace my steps and investigate every line of code that may have caused my program to crash. It was like trying to solve a&nbsp;puzzle.

It’s not a bug, it’s a puzzle

For the last few months, I’ve been working on my second <a href="http://lexaloffle.com/pico-8.php" target="_blank">PICO-8</a> game: Dank Tomb. The core idea for that game came from a <a href="https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=28785" target="_blank">real-time lighting demo</a>, of all things. Since I was starting from the visuals, I had to search for a while for the right set of mechanics to match them. I considered horror themes and a few other approaches before settling on a platforming/puzzle mix with a top-down perspective, similar to how older Zelda games did their dungeons.
