Maziyar Panahi is a seasoned AI/ML Principal Engineer and a prominent Big Data Project Lead, endowed with over 12 years of experience in public research. His primary focus lies in the development of scalable Natural Language Processing (NLP) components, employing state-of-the-art deep learning and machine learning techniques. This includes traditional ML, Language Models, Speech Recognition, and Computer Vision applications. His prowess extends to the design, deployment, and upkeep of machine learning and deep learning models within the JVM ecosystem and distributed computing engines such as Apache Spark at an enterprise-grade production scale. Maziyar has recently ventured into Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), with a focus on developing scalable private Chatbots like ChatGPT that leverage cutting-edge NLP techniques, vector databases, and LLMs, showcasing his dedication to innovating in the AI space. He leads the team behind Spark NLP at John Snow Labs, one of the most widely used NLP libraries in the enterprise.
